Looks like manufacturers are just beginning to produce parts for the initial shipment of Apple iSlate. After hearing the news that Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co., Ltd. will be supplying the connectors for the Apple iSlate, DigiTimes is reporting that Innolux, subsidiary of Foxconn, will be supplying the displays for the initial shipment of Apple iSlate, where Wintek will become a second supplier in the near future.
The report goes on to say that the reason Apple delayed the launch of the device until 1Q of 2010, was because Apple wanted Foxccon to some how strengthen the glass of the ‘10 inch’ display. Which makes sense.
Based on the shipping schedules of the OEMs, DigTimes predicts that Apple will announce the iSlate in January (the 26th) and start selling the device in March/April. Sounds right.

According to Taiwan’s “Economic Daily”, Taiwan based Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co., Ltd. has won orders to mass produce screen connectors for the soon-to-be release Apple iSlate. They also reported that the company will likely to start shipping the connectors to Apple in the third quarter of 2010. Though there’s been many chattering in the blogosphere about a first/second quarter release for the iSlate. Either way, the Apple iSlate exists and it’s coming real soon.
The report also noted that 25% of the income of Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co., Ltd. comes from Apple, Inc. already.

Steve Wozniak may no longer be working for Apple, but being the loyal Apple user that he is, Woz said in a conference Wednesday that he would purchase the Apple Tablet next year “If there is such a thing.” Could Woz possibly know something about the mystical tablet that we don’t? Only time will tell.

The speedy world of shanzai has cloned countless popular products Apple put on the market. Especially the iPhone. Now with the rumored Apple Tablet hopefully launching in early 2010 so say the rumors, a company called Shenzhen Great Loong Brother Industrial has taken it upon themselves and released possibly the first clone of the “pending Apple Slate.” Then again, would that be considered a clone if Apple hasn’t even announce it? Funny thing is that they are calling it the “Imitation Apple handwritten notebook”, via Google Translation. So yeah, it’s a clone alright.
Here’s its spec:
- Intel® Atom Mobile N270 1.6GFSB533(BGA)
- 1GB DDRII 667/533 MHz
- 10.2′ Screen
- Runs Windows XP
Not all that bad at first. But battery life? 90 minutes, yes — just 90 minutes after a full charge. Check out more shoots of the device here.

This exciting report comes from our good pal at Fone Frenzy, they are reporting that Verizon Wireless CEO, Lowell McAdam have been visiting Apple headquarter at Cupertino for the past couple months. For what you ask? Extensive testing a CDMA iPhone on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. First off, if you don’t know what LTE is, Gizmodo has a great write-up explaining the whole deal with 4G LTE.
If this story sounds familiar to you, that’s because back in April of this year, BusinessWeek had an interview with Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam, where he confirmed that he has been going to secret meetings with Apple executives including Mr. Steve Jobs. He didn’t say exactly what was discussed, but BusinessWeek’s sources say that it’s about two Apple devices coming over to Verizon, the iPhone 4G and the mystical Apple Tablet device. That was back in April, fast forward to late October, looks like they are past negotiation and testing the Verizon iPhone 4G for a 2010 release, when the LTE is also slated for launch.
Although the Apple Tablet didn’t come up in Fone Frenzy’s report, the old BusinessWeek’s article did say that Verizon and Apple were in talks of introducing the iPhone and “Media Pad” on Big Red’s network. And if the hundreds of Apple Tablet rumors means anything, with the device launching in early 2010, there’s a chance that we’ll be seeing a Verizon 4G enabled Apple Tablet.
Oh and about that whole “iDoesn’t” campaign, Fone Frenzy noted that: “There is more to Motorola and Verizon anti-iPhone Campaign than meets the eye. While everyone was busy talking about or writing about the Verizon anti-iPhone campaing, few noticed that the commercials were not produced by Verizon, but Motorola.”

The folks at DigiTimes is reporting that Foxconn, the Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer that have collaborated with Apple to produce numerous of its products, is now rumored to make the rumored Apple Tablet device that is rumored for an early 2010 release. With initial production of the the tablet to go around 300,000 to 400,000 by April of 2010. No price point or solid release date was mentioned in the report.
“The sources indicated they believe the tablet PC features will focus more on e-book functionality rather than music, and that based on Apple’s marketing strategy, long battery life, quick Internet connectivity and an easy-to-use user interface will be key features of the device,” stated in the report completes the recent rumor that Apple is in talks with several media from the publishing industry to bring over its content to the tablet.
The report also mentions that the Apple Tablet will sport a 10.6″ screen, not 10.7″ or 9.6″, and chances are that its own Innolux Display subsidiary will make these.

The latest Apple Tablet rumor comes from iLounge. They have gotten their paws on a list of things about the Apple Tablet from a reliable source theirs. The same source that nailed the iPod nano design revision.
- The earlier prototype sports a 7 inch screen, Apple deemed too small, which led to the current version being a 10.7 inch screen. Not only that
- It will run the iPhone OS.
- It will come in two different flavors. With 3G capability and without . Like iPhone and iPod Touch.
- Will be released in May or June, with an announcement before 19th of January.
- Looks like an iPhone with curve back.
- 5-6 times the resolution of an iPod Touch or iPhone 3GS.
- 20% chance of not appearing at all.
I dislike the idea of a bigger iPod/iPhone…

Apple just rehired Michael Tchao, a Developer on the Newton Tablet Team 15 years ago, before he left and work for Nike to produce products like Nike + for iPods. Well, now he’s back at Apple and will be the VP of Product Marketing, reporting directly to Phil Schiller.
Did Apple hire him back just in time for marketing its rumored Apple Tablet? Though this could really mean anything, only time will tell.

Always Innovating, the makers of the Touch Book, has successfully ported the iPhone game ‘Crazy Tanks’ on to their device. From the video, the game ran pretty smoothy with decent resolution on the Touch Book. iPhone apps on the Touch Book would be a great selling point, but Apple’s legal team won’t be too friendly about this at all, being that this is an iPhone App.
iPhone developers will also have to do some tweaking to the screen size and resolution to their app, especially games — unless Apple plans to run all iPhone apps in an iphone-sized window on the tablet, which seems likely at this point.
