This exciting report comes from our good pal at Fone Frenzy, they are reporting that Verizon Wireless CEO, Lowell McAdam have been visiting Apple headquarter at Cupertino for the past couple months. For what you ask? Extensive testing a CDMA iPhone on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. First off, if you don’t know what LTE is, Gizmodo has a great write-up explaining the whole deal with 4G LTE.
If this story sounds familiar to you, that’s because back in April of this year, BusinessWeek had an interview with Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam, where he confirmed that he has been going to secret meetings with Apple executives including Mr. Steve Jobs. He didn’t say exactly what was discussed, but BusinessWeek’s sources say that it’s about two Apple devices coming over to Verizon, the iPhone 4G and the mystical Apple Tablet device. That was back in April, fast forward to late October, looks like they are past negotiation and testing the Verizon iPhone 4G for a 2010 release, when the LTE is also slated for launch.
Although the Apple Tablet didn’t come up in Fone Frenzy’s report, the old BusinessWeek’s article did say that Verizon and Apple were in talks of introducing the iPhone and “Media Pad” on Big Red’s network. And if the hundreds of Apple Tablet rumors means anything, with the device launching in early 2010, there’s a chance that we’ll be seeing a Verizon 4G enabled Apple Tablet.
Oh and about that whole “iDoesn’t” campaign, Fone Frenzy noted that: “There is more to Motorola and Verizon anti-iPhone Campaign than meets the eye. While everyone was busy talking about or writing about the Verizon anti-iPhone campaing, few noticed that the commercials were not produced by Verizon, but Motorola.”

@MacTouchUser If Verizon’s planning to have the iPhone next year, isn’t it odd that they’re running anti-iPhone ads right now?

Thanks for pointing it out.
apple iphone 4g on version will be sweet! And if the apple tablet or media pad is also on verizon… OMG. This is indeed exciting news!
Even if the Droid ad was produced by Motorola, it’s hosted on Verizon’s site. I wouldn’t get too excited about the iPhone on Verizon… 4G/LTE won’t be available in enough markets, and since the iPhone is GSM, it won’t work on Verizon’s CDMA network, making it practically useless as a mobile phone.
More likely, an Apple product will be available on Verizon once 4G/LTE is more prevalent, which might be 2012 at the current rate of progress.
The idon’t ads are nothing to bother with. At this point, Apple gets free publicity practically everywhere, and this sort of thing just adds to the buzz. Apple is the company to which all others compare themselves.
this won’t happen. whoever is pushing this is a shill for verizon which is getting killed by the iphone. they are doing everything they can to make people wait a deal with apple while they try to get something together that will be competitive.
its a ploy to gain time.
Does anyone read the article, here I will say it SSSSLLLLLOOOOWWWWW. Aaaaapppppllllleeee i-s ddddddd-e-v-e-l-o-p-i-n-g and ta-ta-ta-ta-t-e-s-t-i-n-g aaaaaa C-D-M-A ppppppphhhoooooonnnnneeeee!!! DER!
As far as the droid ad it is a motorola ad and yes hosted by Verizon, but remember the whole competition article….too many tech nerds and not enough business people on here.
